Know Before You Go
- CHALLENGING TREK - good physical fitness essential
- Previous hiking experience strongly recommended
- Starts at midnight - expect 5-6 hours ascending
- Temperatures near summit can drop to 5-10 degrees Celsius - bring warm layers
- Wear proper trekking shoes with ankle support
- Bring headlamp with extra batteries (backup provided)
- Pack light - only essentials
- Altitude sickness possible above 2500m
- Trek may be cancelled if volcanic activity increases
- Not suitable for children under 15
- Bring at least 2 liters of water
- Rain jacket essential - weather changes rapidly
Important Information
This is a CHALLENGING overnight trek requiring good physical fitness and proper hiking gear. The ascent is steep with over 2,000m elevation gain. Temperatures at the summit can drop to 5 degrees Celsius. Proper trekking shoes, warm layers, and rain protection are MANDATORY. Not recommended for people with heart conditions, breathing difficulties, or knee/joint problems. Trek may be cancelled without notice if Mount Agung shows increased volcanic activity - full refund in this case. Minimum age: 15 years.
